Artist Statement:

Change brings opportunity. We can change our thoughts and we can change our world.

Change is a challenge in our lives. Things do not change, we change.

In my artwork screen design subject, shows a white bear spilled a black paint on his body and he change to panda bear.

My points here is we can change ourself without knowing, people change and forget to tell each other.

People change when they grow and improves their self.

For the typography, I put a big size for challenge as to make it a strong word in my artwork.

Chow Hon Lam

Chow Hon Lam is a t-shirt designer and a humorous illustrator from Malaysia. He has been completed this crazy project called Flying Mouse 365, which is create 1 design per day. I hope his illustrations can bring some smile and entertainment to the world.

In his artwork, everything around inspires him. He always believe that everything has their own story, a cup of tea, a watermelon, a pussy cat, a cloud, or even a chair. He try to create a story for them. Maybe they have something to say, but just can’t speak. He added some humour in his illustration and also give some meaningful message through imaging.

His artwork usually based on illustration. He start with a very rough sketch in Adobe Illustrator, then ink it and color it. Sometimes he used Photoshop too, depending on the amount of detail he needed for that particular design.

Artist Statement:
Feeling sad, or what we may call "depressed", happens to all of us. The small happiness are depression from the big burden.The red capital D giving pressure toward the yellow letter. Depression attempted loss energy and pains. Red color represent the burden, anger and temper, yellow color represent the pressure and energy, meanwhile black represent the darkness and gloomy to shows the depression. Depression is a state of low mood and aversion to activity that can affect a person's thoughts, behavior, feelings and physical well-being.

For my project, I use SF Beaverton and Shruti as my font..

Insomnia, excessive sleeping, fatigue, loss of energy, or aches, pains or digestive problems that are resistant to treatment may be present.

Slab Serif

- Minimal variation of thick and thin strokes

- Heavy serifs with squared-off ends

- Large x-heights.

Sans Serif

- Lack of serifs

- Larger x-height

- No stress in rounded strokes

- Represent handwriting or hand lettering styles

Brief: Required to use creative typographic composition to represent underlying meaning, expression and emotion based on selected topic. Using the understanding of type expression to communicate your voice, students are encourage to 'play' with attributes in a creative manner.

Format: Size 10inch x 10inch, flat and 2D artwork. Encouraged to use various visual and physically experimental methods to create your typographic artwork.
